Just Horsin' Around | Photo Session at Little Creek Stables

This past Spring, one of my former students Randi, who is also now a teacher (so proud!), contacted me and asked if I might be interested in doing a photo session for Little Creek Stables, with some sweet girls and their horses. Randi grew up riding horses and now works there part time. I told her absolutely!

I’ll be honest…horses sort of scare me. I did not grow up around them and only know that I rode one once, when I was about three (I’ve seen the photo!). They are so big and powerful! I did a maternity session several years back for a friend and her horse, and I have pet a lot of horses—from the other side of the fence. But I love animals and new adventures, so I was willing to jump right in!

When I arrived at the stables, there were several girls and their moms onsite, dressed and ready to go. And there were horses…such beautiful horses! Even though they intimidate me, it was amazing to see these young girls approaching them, nuzzling them, and riding them with such control and courage! There were some yellow wildflowers in a field, and we had that perfect golden hour glow, so we created some beautiful images of pure sweetness and love between these girls and their horses.

See below for some of the photos…and make sure you scroll to the end for an outtake with one of the horses!
