What to Put in your Bridal Emergency Kit

As I was writing a blog post with tips for planning weddings a while back, one of my suggestions was to have a bridal emergency kit with you on the day of your wedding. As a photographer, this is something I always carry with me, and it has come in handy more than a few times! I have saved many DJs and videographers with extra AA batteries, and I just photographed a wedding where the bride had red wine splashed on her dress—a stain remover pen saved her dress! So I decided to expand upon that original blog post and create this one outlining some important items you may want to include in your bridal emergency kit. (This would also make a fantastic bridal shower or Christmas gift for a future bride!)

  • Bobby pins

  • Hair ties

  • Extra earring backs

  • Safety pins

  • Sewing kit

  • Scissors

  • Tissue

  • Feminine products

  • Nail file

  • Bandaids

  • Double-sided tape

  • Body glue (great for keeping jewelry in place)

  • Q-tips

  • Lotion

  • Chapstick

  • Dental floss

  • Toothbrush/toothpaste

  • Stain remover wipes or pen

  • Advil/Tylenol

  • Breath mints

  • Bug spray (for outdoor weddings)

  • Lighter

  • AA batteries

  • Pen

  • Zip ties (helpful with bouquets)

Bridal Emergency Kit | Charlotte Wedding Photographer

On my wedding day, I put on my dress, and it was TOO BIG! I had apparently lost a few pounds after the alterations were complete. We tried to safety pin it, but that wouldn’t work. Thankfully, one of my bridesmaids, Angela, had a sewing kit and was able to add a few stitches so that my dress stayed up! That’s what motivated me to add a sewing kit to my wedding emergency kit!
